Senior Accountant

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant to join a growing retail organization and play a key role in the day‑to‑day accounting function. This position will be responsible for supporting the month‑end close, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and process improvements while partnering with the Controller and finance leadership to help scale the accounting function as the business continues to grow.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical accountant with retail experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environment and enjoys improving processes while remaining involved in the day‑to‑day accounting activities.

• Prepare and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain the general ledger and assist with fixed assets, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Perform inventory accounting, including costing, inventory reconciliations, reserves, and inventory‑related analyses.
• Assist with revenue recognition and ensure proper accounting treatment across multiple revenue streams.
• Support accounting for multiple retail locations while maintaining consistency in financial reporting and operational controls.
• Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules and serving as a key contact for external auditors.
• Partner with operations and cross‑functional teams to analyze financial results and provide insights into business performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automate workflows, and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Assist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and other finance‑related projects as needed.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance when appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Prior experience within a retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or multi‑location business environment strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and multi‑site accounting.
• Experience participating in the month‑end close process and preparing financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• ERP system experience highly preferred (Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
