The Assistant to the Dean of the School of Nursing will provide administrative support to the dean, while also leading and ensuring the administrative needs of the school and its academic programs are met. In turn, the school will advance the University’s mission and strategic plan by developing skilled healthcare professionals who seek to lead while serving our communities and the world.
In supporting the college in achieving its mission, the Assistant will advance Pepperdine’s mission and strategic plan.
- Responsible for the management of the Dean of the School of Nursing's calendar, requiring interaction with both internal and external executives, assistants, and consultants, to coordinate a variety of meetings.
- Maintain recurring administrative calendars and coordinate timing of action items for time-sensitive projects.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, lunches, meetings, and events on behalf of the Dean.
- Direct and coordinate the administrative services for the School of Nursing. This includes performing the following administrative tasks:
Organize and maintain files, process vendor payments, perform credit card reconciliations, maintain and ensure the confidential and accurate storing and handling of faculty contracts, performance evaluations, and other related records, draft memoranda and reports, schedule classes in People Soft and reserve rooms in 25 Live, prepare for meetings, including catering and meal requests. - Formulate and maintain spreadsheets and databases, and apply technological support solutions to improve efficiencies.
- Manage office communications: e-mail, telephone calls, and incoming and outgoing correspondence, applying technological support solutions to improve efficiencies.
- Plan and monitor special projects for the Dean, proactively researching and determining available resource requirements; utilizing appropriate technologies/methodologies to help administratively support project completion.
- Responsible for researching, developing, reviewing, and editing presentations, preparing documents, writing and editing reports, benchmarking, and researching data for presentations, conferences, seminars, and reports.
- Support the broader administrative functions of the College of Health Science during itscontinueddevelopment, including providing administrative support to college staff and personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong administrative support skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform work while under pressure.
- Ability to proactively address issues and take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive matters.
- Ability to work effectively with University administrators, Regents, faculty, staff, students, vendors, attorneys, and government officials.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Google Suite, and Excel
- Two or more years of experience in an office setting and/or administrative position.
- Familiarity with Pepperdine University and its Christian mission.
This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $26.82 - $29.80 per hour
