About SVI Technologies

SVI Technologies is an early-stage deep-tech company developing next-generation sensing and AI technologies for robotics and autonomous systems.

Our proprietary sensing platform combines advanced 3D sensing, physics-based measurements, and AI to enable new capabilities in robotic perception, navigation, and automated inspection.

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands‑on Senior Autonomous Robotics Engineer to join a small, high-performing R&D team developing advanced autonomous sensing technologies from simulation and laboratory experimentation through deployment in real-world robotic systems.

Our technology is progressing from prototype development toward operational deployment through commercial partnerships and U.S. Government-funded programs. This is an opportunity to work on challenging technical problems while having significant influence on the architecture and development of next-generation autonomous systems.

Why Join Us
  • Work on next-generation robotics, autonomous systems, and advanced sensing technologies
  • Solve challenging problems at the intersection of robotics, perception, localization, sensor fusion, and AI
  • Take concepts from modeling and simulation through experimental validation and real-world deployment
  • Work hands‑on with advanced sensing hardware and autonomous robotic platforms
  • Have significant technical ownership and influence in an early-stage deep-tech company
  • Work in a small, highly collaborative R&D team
  • Contribute to both commercial and U.S. Government programs
  • Competitive compensation, stock options, and company benefits
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate localization, mapping, registration, and state-estimation algorithms
  • Develop and evaluate multi-sensor fusion techniques for autonomous robotic systems
  • Develop algorithms for 3D reconstruction, motion compensation, robotic perception, and navigation
  • Model and simulate robotic motion, sensor performance, and 3D sensing systems
  • Design and conduct experiments using LiDAR, IMUs, cameras, and robotic platforms
  • Collect and analyze sensor, point‑cloud, inertial, and robotic‑state data
  • Characterize and improve localization, mapping, perception, and overall system performance
  • Prototype and experimentally validate new sensing, perception, and autonomy algorithms
  • Transition validated algorithms into real‑time robotic systems
  • Support system integration, field testing, and customer/government demonstrations
Required Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related technical field, with 3+ years of relevant experience in robotics, autonomy, perception, or related R&D or B.S. in a related technical field with 5+ years of demonstrated relevant industry R&D experience.
  • Strong hands‑on experience developing and testing robotic localization, mapping, or SLAM algorithms
  • Experience with LiDAR-based 3D perception, point clouds, registration, localization, or mapping
  • Experience with IMUs, state estimation, and multi-sensor fusion
  • Strong modeling, simulation, algorithm-development, and experimental-design skills
  • Hands‑on experience setting up sensor experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results
  • Strong C++ and/or Python programming skills
  • Experience with ROS/ROS 2 or similar robotics frameworks
  • Ability to work independently on open‑ended R&D problems spanning algorithms, sensing hardware, and robotic systems
  • Strong problem‑solving and systems‑level thinking
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by applicable U.S. export‑control laws and regulations and eligible to work on U.S. Government programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced LiDAR or coherent sensing systems
  • Experience with LiDAR‑inertial odometry or…
