Workshop Fitter – Portskewett, Commutable from Newport, Cardiff, Chepstow, Bristol – £43,000 plus overtime, training and progression.

Are you an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer, HGV Mechanic, or Agricultural Engineer looking to join one of the UK's leading mobile plant suppliers within the quarrying and aggregates sector?

The day‑to‑day of this role involves repairing and maintaining heavy quarrying and construction equipment, carrying out machine inspections and preparation for hire or sale, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, and completing major component overhauls.

  • Repair and maintenance of heavy quarrying and construction plant
  • Machine inspections, preparation and installations
  • Engine, transmission, axle and hydraulic overhauls
  • Monday to Friday
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have significant experience maintaining heavy construction, quarrying or mining equipment, hold a recognised engineering qualification, and be confident diagnosing faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Experience maintaining heavy construction plant equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, driveline, electrical and engine systems
  • Experience with quarrying, mining or construction equipment preferred
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work independently or as part of a team
  • Based in or willing to commute to Caldicot
