The Assistant Manager is a hands‑on working leader responsible for supporting the General Manager in daily operations. This position is primarily operational and field‑based.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operations and Wash Production- Spend majority of each shift working alongside the team in truck wash operations.
- Scrub, prep, pressure wash, and clean trucks according to company standards.
- Assist with vehicle flow, loading, directing, and staging to support efficient throughput.
- Jump into operational roles as needed, including prep, pressure washing, tunnel support, and customer‑facing duties.
- Monitor daily production, wash quality, traffic stacking, and site flow.
- Help maintain all operational areas clean, organized, safe, and ready for use.
- Verify that opening, shift, and closing procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
- Conduct routine walk‑arounds and inspect equipment.
- Submit maintenance issues and work orders, follow up on repairs.
- Lead the store under the direction of the General Manager.
- Execute general manager’s priorities and ensure procedures are followed.
- Provide floor leadership, set pace, maintain urgency, and reinforce accountability.
- Assign daily roles, rotate staff to maintain quality and engagement.
- Approve and stagger breaks and lunches to ensure coverage.
- Step in to lead the site when the General Manager is off‑site or unavailable.
- Reinforce standards related to attendance, punctuality, uniforms, conduct, safety, and performance.
- Coach supervisors and team members with feedback and daily support.
- Train employees on wash quality, scrubbing technique, pressure washing, safety, and customer service.
- Support weekly check‑ins with supervisors and development conversations with front‑line employees.
- Assist with performance reviews, follow‑up conversations, and corrective action documentation.
- Conduct or support team huddles and brief meetings.
- Help support employee accountability, morale, and consistency.
- Support daily sales execution and reinforce sales goals.
- Train and coach employees on vehicle qualification, upselling, memberships, and customer interaction.
- Track employee sales activity and coach underperformance while recognizing strong results.
- Communicate incentive programs, goals, and progress.
- Interact with customers, assist in resolving complaints.
- Approve re‑washes, refunds, or upgrades within established authority.
- Maintain visible leadership during peak customer hours.
- Monitor chemical, supply, and consumable inventory levels and assist with counts and replenishment.
- Participate in KPI discussions and operational reviews with the General Manager.
- Complete daily shift reports, notes, and documentation related to site performance.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in truck wash, car wash, automotive service, detailing, general labor, or other fast‑paced operational environments preferred.
- Ability to lead employees while actively working alongside them.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor for majority of shift.
- Ability to communicate clearly, enforce standards, and follow direction from the General Manager.
- Basic understanding of customer service, team leadership, and operational accountability.
- Ability to adapt quickly and step into different roles based on business needs.
- Lead by example and maintain strong on‑floor presence.
- Manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced environment.
- Strong observational skills related to wash quality, safety, and employee performance.
- Provide coaching, direction, and corrective feedback professionally.
