About PNC
Pacific North Contractors is a third-generation, woman-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in Caldwell, Idaho, serving the Pacific Northwest and Mountain West. For more than 45 years, we've specialized in fueling stations, convenience stores, underground utilities, and facility maintenance — delivering ground-up retail projects nearly twice as fast as the industry norm while maintaining a zero-OSHA-violation record. Licensed in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, and North Dakota, PNC is built on six core values:
Honesty, Transparency, Reliability, Accountability, Family, and Excellence.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead our jobsites from mobilization through closeout. As the senior on-site leader, you own the daily execution — schedule, safety, quality, subcontractor coordination, and client confidence. You are the face of PNC in the field, and our reputation is built on the trust your leadership earns every day. This role reports to the COO and works in close partnership with the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through final closeout on commercial projects, including fueling stations, C-stores, and underground utility work.
- Own the field schedule — sequence trades, hold subcontractors accountable to milestones, and keep projects on or ahead of timeline.
- Enforce a zero-compromise safety culture in full compliance with OSHA and PNC standards; conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and crews, resolving conflicts and performance issues quickly and professionally.
- Maintain relentless quality control, ensuring all work meets plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, and jurisdictional authorities.
- Track and report daily field progress, manpower, and issues using PNC systems (Red Team Go and Asana).
- Manage field-level budget awareness — material use, labor efficiency, and change-order documentation.
- Partner with the Project Manager on preconstruction planning, submittals, RFIs, and owner communication.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience (fueling / C-store / retail / site-utility experience strongly preferred).
- Proven ability to run a jobsite independently and lead subcontractor crews to schedule and quality standards.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial building codes, ADA compliance, and jurisdictional inspection processes.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain); demonstrated safety leadership.
- Comfortable with construction-management technology; experience with Red Team Go, Asana, or similar a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to regional jobsites across PNC's five-state footprint.
- Alignment with PNC's core values — honesty, reliability, accountability, and a family-first team culture.
Why Work at PNC
- Family-owned, woman-led firm with 45+ years of stability and a steady project pipeline.
- Direct access to ownership — fast decisions and your work is seen.
- Zero OSHA violations — safety is non-negotiable here.
- Named #1 General Contractor in Caldwell, Idaho (Business Rate Best of 2026).
- Competitive salary, benefits eligibility, and real opportunity to grow with the company.
Pacific North Contractors is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
Physical Requirements
This is a hands-on field leadership role. Our Superintendents wear a tool belt and physically perform work alongside their crews. Physical requirements of the position include but are not limited to:
- Standing and walking on active jobsites for extended periods.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and equipment.
- Squatting, kneeling, bending, climbing, and reaching.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
- Performing hands-on construction tasks while wearing a tool belt and required PPE.
