Job Title

Qualifications:

Previous aide, educational support, or teaching experience preferred. Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries and high expectations. Ability to work effectively with at-risk students from diverse backgrounds and varying social, emotional, and academic needs. Ability to help create and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Works collaboratively and respectfully with students, staff, families, and the public.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in high-pressure situations. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff.

Job Summary:

Supports the general educational environment in collaboration with all staff.

• Working with students
• Campus supervision
• Intervenes when students exhibit antisocial behavior
• Respond to student behavioral needs
• Collaborate with teachers and all other staff to provide a safe environment for students
• Communicate with the admin about students
• Other
• Attend faculty meetings as required
• Keep the immediate supervisor informed of activities and problems
• Assume responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development
• Seek assistance should emergencies arise
• Represent the school district in a positive manner
• Know and follow the school district policy and chain of command
• Perform other duties as assigned

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher and/or the director of special services in conformance with any applicable federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.

This position shall be considered in all respects "employment at will".
