Description
The City of Caldwell is looking for a Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Coordinator to join their team. This position coordinates and provides lead operational and maintenance supervision of an advanced wastewater treatment facility, providing day-to-day work coordination and guidance for assigned operations and maintenance staff. Serves as a key liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to ensure procedures are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and laws.
Works under the general direction of the wastewater treatment plant superintendents. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to extreme weather and wet conditions with potential exposure to sewage, chemicals, and related industrial hazards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and/or Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Seven years experience in the operations or maintenance of an advanced wastewater treatment facility, including supervisory or lead experience. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses, Certifications and Other Requirements:
- Valid and current driver's license.
- Possession of a Class III Idaho Wastewater Treatment Operator license.
- Possession of a Class IV Idaho Wastewater Treatment Operator license; or the ability to obtain within one year.
- Must be able to comply with annual continuing education requirements for license renewal.
- Must be able to work after hours, weekends, and holidays; and participate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergencies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug testing to include prescription drugs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, chemical, or biological sciences, public or business administration, or related field.
- Nine years of related experience including three years of supervisory experiences in a large wastewater treatment facility.
