Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
• Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Typically reports to chief technologist or manager.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.

Requirements and

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine or successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program preferred.
• Current Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within one year of hire.
• PET/CT experience preferred.

• Must be able to maintain a standing position.
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
• Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend.
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment.
