Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Exercise Physiologist at our facility you will find out what it truly means to be a part of a collaborative team where diversity and inclusion thrive. Every role has an impact on our patients' lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. Join us in our efforts to better our community! In this role:

* You will develop and maintain an employee/public health and wellness program to include fitness assessments, body fat calculations, program development, and customer education.

* You will be accountable for program development, quality improvement, and problem solving and productivity enhancement.

* You will, under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, complete treatments and procedures within the scope of practice of a Physical Therapist which do not require the special skills and training of a Physical Therapist.

* You will perform strength, conditioning, endurance, and flexibility assessments and design exercise routines to target one or all of these areas.

* You will provide personal training, instructing patients in the use of exercise equipment and making sure individuals are performing exercises properly.

* You will identify postural problems that patients may be exhibiting and give instruction as needed.

* You will attend staff and other meetings and participate in unit committees, such as education, quality improvement, etc.

* You will perform workstation evaluations for hospital employees and translate results into recommendations for workstation modification.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Health Education or related degree.

* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification

* Knowledge of the physiology of exercise and the perception of a person's exercise capabilities; hospital experience is desirable.
