Job Summary
The Data Migration Field Support Technician supports data migration efforts for the Idaho Supreme Court in the trial courts. Located in Boise, Idaho, the technician must be fully onsite daily.
Key Responsibilities- Understand court processes to ensure solutions match user needs.
- Work closely with IT and district court leadership to prioritize daily tasks and projects, providing responsive end‑user support.
- Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of standard desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and peripheral devices in accordance with IT procedures.
- Coordinate and/or migrate customer data from decommissioned devices to new equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain software on mobile devices.
- Assist IT colleagues with equipment shipments, receivables, and surplus equipment processing per Court procedures.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of serialized asset information in the inventory system.
- Work closely with court staff and local administration on office moves, additions, and changes as required.
- Correspond with users and staff regarding issue status, resolution, and task completion.
- Escalate issues to other members of the technical services team as appropriate.
- Collaborate with IT staff to test, troubleshoot, and validate new hardware and applications.
- Attend meetings as required.
Education: Minimum 3 years of IT support experience;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Onboarding new users to Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, One Drive, Outlook).
- Migrating end‑user emails and documents to Outlook and One Drive.
- Maintaining Windows Active Directory users, computers, and policies.
- Troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 10/11.
- Providing support for Microsoft Office 2016 (exporting/importing mail, calendar, contacts).
- Basic network configuration and troubleshooting (wired and wireless).
- Knowledge of court processes and court information systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the state as needed.
- Ability to prioritize and address tickets based on impact.
- Ability to work independently.
