Ready Mix Plant Laborer

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Ready-Mix Plant Laborer in Caldwell, Idaho. This position involves assisting in the daily operations of a concrete plant, including the maintenance of equipment, cleaning, loading and unloading of materials, and ensuring the safe and efficient production of concrete.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures
• Assist in the batching and mixing of ready-mix
• Help with loading and unloading of materials, including sand, gravel
• Operate light equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and conveyors
• Monitor plant equipment to ensure proper function
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of plant equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant site
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective equipment (PPE)
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company safety
• Assist with sampling and testing of materials to ensure concrete meets quality standards
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks as needed
• Help with inventory management, including counting and recording

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in construction, concrete, or manufacturing is preferred but not required
• Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and conveyors
• Basic understanding of plant safety
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above shoulders
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 lbs
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception

Work Environment:

• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat
• Noise level is usually moderate to loud
