Machinist

We are seeking dedicated machinists to join our swing shift team. This role offers a long-term opportunity for growth starting with a position through Aerotek and transitioning to a permanent role. Our machinists play a vital role in producing parts for military, medical, automotive, and oil and gas industries.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce both small and large batches of parts.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ensure products meet precise specifications and exercise focused attention to detail.
• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for each job.
• Monitor the accuracy of cuts and replace dull cutting tools as needed.
• Check the accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and various handheld tools to inspect parts and verify conformance to specifications.
• Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce parts.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience setting up, operating, and basic programming of CNC Lathes and/or 5 Axis Vertical Mills.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and machine operation.
• Ability to use hand tools effectively.
• Excellent verbal, writing, and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Experience in monitoring and maintaining equipment accuracy.
• Capability to work with precision instruments like micrometers and calipers.

Work Environment

Work in a clean shop equipped with new and modern CNC machines. Choose between a day shift of 5/8s Monday through Friday or 4 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday. Start times are at 6 AM for 4/10s and from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a t-shirt.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
