Job Title: Production Line Lead / Lead Coating Operator (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)
Location: Caldwell, Idaho
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Hourly Rate: $23.00-$25.75, depending on experience

Position Summary:
The Production Line Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production line to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality seed coating processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product consistency, traceability, and compliance with Summit Seed Coatings’ standards. The Production Line Leader coordinates workflow, mentors production staff, operates specialized coating equipment, and ensures adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate daily production line activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely completion of scheduled work.
  • Operate and monitor specialized seed-coating equipment to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain rigorous seed traceability and documentation throughout all stages of production.
  • Train, mentor, and support production staff on processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, make necessary adjustments, and elevate mechanical concerns when needed.
  • Enforce workplace safety procedures and promote a culture of compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall output.
  • Work collaboratively with management, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to resolve operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible production environment aligned with Summit Seed Coatings’ sustainability values.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed for production support.
  • $23.00-$25.75/hour, depending on experience

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in manufacturing, equipment operation, or agriculture a plus.
  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment; seed-coating or agricultural experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and production equipment safely (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Understanding of safety regulations, quality standards, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
