Overview

Position:
Customer Service/Sales Associate. This role involves providing fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers, assessing their needs, and assisting with product information to contribute to sales. Associates learn product knowledge using company tools and aim to greet, qualify, recommend, and close sales within their department, while understanding basics in adjacent departments. The role also includes maintaining in-stock conditions, keeping the area clean, shop-able, and safe, and contributing to a safe working and shopping environment by following safety policies and completing required training.

Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. Position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Greet customers and assess their needs; qualify and recommend products or services; work to close sales in the customer’s department
• Learn product information and use available tools to assist customers and provide alternatives across related departments
• Maintain in-stock conditions, ensure the area is clean, shop-able, and safe
• Follow all safety policies and standards; complete required safety training; identify and report hazards to the Manager on Duty
• Collaborate with Department Supervisors and other associates across departments
• Support various department types (e.g., Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, Customer Order Specialist)
