The National Sales Director will shape and execute the national sales strategy, leading a multi‑regional sales organization to achieve aggressive growth targets. This senior leadership role requires a strategic, results‑driven professional with deep expertise in the insurance industry and a proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high‑performing sales teams.
Day‑to‑Day Duties- Design and roll out a cohesive national sales plan that aligns with corporate goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop regional sales leaders and their teams (20+ direct reports).
- Manage key relationships with corporate accounts, broker partners, and distribution channels.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, underwriting, and operations to launch new products and expand market share.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and sales performance metrics; adjust tactics as needed.
- Oversee robust sales reporting, pipeline management, and quarterly forecasting.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
- Champion compliance, ethical selling practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 8–10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, ideally within life or health insurance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and scale large sales teams across multiple regions.
- Track record of delivering multi‑million‑dollar revenue results.
- Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting data to drive strategy.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Deep knowledge of insurance regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Willingness to travel nationally up to 30% of the time.
- Experience with digital sales platforms and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
