Pay Range: $17.76 - $19.73 Status:
Non-Exempt, Full-time

The College of Idaho is seeking a dedicated and proactive Campus Safety Officer to join our team in safeguarding our vibrant academic community. In this essential role, the selected candidate will ensure the overall safety and security of faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors while enforcing College policies and working closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders when appropriate. Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus facilities
  • Secure buildings
  • Identify safety hazards
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Participate in disaster preparedness exercises
  • Engage in crime prevention
  • Assist the public
  • Maintain accurate logs of incidents
  • Provide safety escorts
  • Enforce parking
  • Document incidents
  • Provide special event support
  • Assist with access control and other campus safety services
Requirements
  • At least 19 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of security or law enforcement experience or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Strong judgment, physical fitness, and thorough understanding of safety principles and legal rights
  • Exceptional integrity, reliable work ethic, and strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship from The College of Idaho
  • Current, valid driver's license and vehicle-insurable

The position operates on 10-hour shifts; training typically takes place during day shift, but post-training availability for evening and night shifts is essential.
