Position Summary Overview

We are seeking a Shingle Installer for our Roofing Department to ensure that all shingle roof installations meet company quality standards, blueprint specifications, and safety regulations
. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on roofing experience
, exceptional attention to detail
, and a strong commitment to safety
. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality, reducing rework, and supporting our production team’s success
.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Inspect in-progress and completed shingle roof installations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with blueprints and work orders
  • Verify correct materials, fastening methods, alignment, and overhang are used in all installations
  • Identify defects
    , document issues, and communicate corrective actions to roofing crews and supervisors
  • Conduct re-inspections after repairs to confirm completion
  • Monitor and enforce OSHA safety standards
    , including tie‑off policies and PPE usage
  • Assist with training new crew members in quality expectations and installation best practices
  • Maintain inspection logs and submit daily reports to the Roofing Supervisor
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure production deadlines are met without compromising quality
Skills
  • Knowledge of shingle roofing installation methods (residential or commercial)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
  • High attention to detail and ability to spot subtle defects
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to compliance
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management in a high‑paced production environment
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of roofing or construction experience
  • Comfortable working at heights of 6+ feet using safety harnesses
  • Proficient in using hand tools and pneumatic tools safely
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work full scheduled shifts with overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an indoor production facility
  • OSHA safety training or certifications
  • Construction/manufacturing experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
Licenses/Certifications

    OSHA certification preferred

  • Roofing installation or construction
