Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level

We will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will keep our customers’ vehicles in shape and on the road.

Responsibilities- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
- Use Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Perform preventive maintenance repairs such as tire replacement, rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partner with management to learn new skills via Penske's technician training and hands‑on coaching.
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to solve problems and use tools comfortably.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Understand and comply with company instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, and safety policies, including DOT, OSHA, and Penske practices.
- Maintain full attendance.
- Meet DOT requirements for driving Penske and customer vehicles, including having a current driver qualification file and necessary medical records.
- Willingness to work required schedule, location, and travel for training.
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
- Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls.
- Operate safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Navigate workplace safely, seeing and hearing to avoid truck movement hazards.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 pounds (45 kg); push/pull truck tires that exceed 100 pounds.
Pay
: $23.00/hr
