Maintenance Technician – Competitive Pay DOE – Caldwell,
Kit Custom Home Builders is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our 100% onsite manufacturing facility in Caldwell, Idaho. This is a full‑time, hands‑on position responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing production equipment, machinery, tools, and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and general maintenance on production equipment, machinery, tools, and facility systems. This position works closely with Maintenance, Production, and Safety to minimize equipment downtime and maintain a safe, productive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Inspect equipment and identify wear, damage, or potential failures
- Repair or replace worn and defective components
- Assist with machinery installations, modifications, and upgrades
- Perform general building and facility maintenance
- Assist with welding, light fabrication, plumbing, HVAC, or electrical repairs when qualified
- Maintain maintenance records, inspections, and work orders
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all Company safety policies
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Work closely with Production and Safety to support efficient operations
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Previous maintenance, manufacturing, industrial, construction, or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and perform repairs
- OSHA 10 certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Reliable attendance and a strong safety mindset
- Three or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience
- Welding or light fabrication experience
- HVAC experience
- Small engine repair experience
- Experience maintaining production equipment, stationary saws, pneumatic systems, hoists, motors, and industrial machinery
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, pull, and reach
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
- Work in an active manufacturing environment with noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures while wearing required PPE
- Full‑time, onsite
- Monday‑Friday
- Overtime and Saturdays as needed based on production requirements
- Occasional early mornings or evenings may be required
