Experienced Industrial/Commercial Journeyman Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician is a skilled professional responsible for independently installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications. This role leads electrical work on job sites, ensures high-quality installations, and mentors apprentices while coordinating with supervisors and other trades. The Journeyman Electrician plays a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant electrical systems while driving productivity and workmanship excellence.

Accountabilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, installing electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, installing and supporting motor controls, performing system testing, ensuring all work meets quality standards, leading daily work activities, mentoring apprentices, coordinating with supervisors, monitoring material usage, maintaining a safe work environment, enforcing safety protocols, and performing other duties as assigned.

Work environment and physical demands include operating in construction and/or industrial environments, mobility requirements, manual dexterity, lifting, visual and auditory requirements, and potential overtime, weekends, or holidays.

Required knowledge/experience includes a high school diploma or GED, completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program, a valid Journeyman Electrician license, advanced knowledge of electrical systems, understanding of the National Electrical Code, ability to read blueprints, experience leading crews, problem-solving skills, effective communication, ability to work independently, lifting and pushing/pulling requirements, and wearing PPE.
