How you will impact our missionBe a part of setting a new standard for residential care for generations to come. Successful candidates will help open a new 64‑bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) for youth at our 258‑acre Hands of Promise Campus in Idaho’s Treasure Valley.
PositionThe Medical Technician is responsible for direct oversight of storage and distribution of medications to clients, and serves as the primary liaison between clients, youth care providers, clinicians, the Director of Nursing and the Medical Director.
This position is a relief role and will fill in on‑call only after training.
Location:
Idaho. Candidates need to be within a reasonable distance of one of the Idaho Youth Ranch locations.
- Administer medication as ordered by a physician
- Take and record vital signs of youth
- Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately
- Report and record any changes in condition
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license or obtain one within 15 days of hire
- Must hold the state‑required medication pass certification or other required certification, complete state‑required delegation and/or training requirements, and successfully complete the medication pass competency
- Obtain specialized training related to the position, such as CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, Individualized Behavioral Contingencies, Crisis & Suicide Management and Med Management when offered
- Knowledge of computer and EHR systems
- One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting
