The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Family and Community Services is recruiting for a Human Services Supervisor to work within the Caldwell field office of our Youth Safety and Permanency Program. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for leadership and supervision for a team of Licensed Social Workers, Family Services Workers, and a Case Aide.
This leadership role is critical in ensuring the safety, permanency, and well‑being of children and families in our community.
As a Human Services Supervisor, you will oversee agency practice, provide consistent supervision, and ensure compliance with state and federal child welfare policies and procedures. You will play a key role in mentoring/training staff, managing performance, and fostering a trauma‑informed, family‑centered approach to service delivery.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug‑free workplace. - Supervise a team of case managers and ensure quality practice according to agency standards.
- Be familiar with team cases and assign caseloads accordingly.
- Monitor data entry and quality, addressing performance issues as needed. Evaluate employee performance, assess staff training needs, and support/lead staff through change.
- Facilitate regular consultations per the agency's standard of practice.
- Serve as a member of the Regional Leadership Team and regularly attend meetings.
- Field questions from community providers, including birth parents, foster parents, and community partners.
- Train, coach, and model best practice.

- Some knowledge of supervisory practices. Typically gained through completion of a class or seminar (more than one day) specifically covering supervisory practices; or lead work experience that required work direction, monitoring work, and making work assignments (such experience on a fill‑in basis if non‑qualifying unless for a period of approximately three months or more); or completion of a college‑level personnel course.
- Some knowledge of community organization/development principles and processes. Typically gained by completion of community organization/development course or workshops equivalent to three semester hours of college credit or 40 classroom hours of specific training OR has served in a direct services role for at least one year in case management or psychosocial or rehabilitation therapy or counseling and applying these principles in a community development role.
