This role combines traditional QA disciplines with modern AI/ML testing strategies, including validating AI models, automating test flows with AI‑assisted tooling, and improving product quality using intelligent test frameworks. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) requires a Software Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (SQAA3) to build and support automated testing frameworks and tests that verify program functionality according to user requirements and established standards.

The analyst will build, write code and support automated testing across all levels—unit, functional, integration, user acceptance, and production deployment validation—to ensure that automation delivers the intended results and satisfies the specified business requirements.

• Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures.
• Use AI‑driven tooling to improve test coverage, defect detection, and regression reliability.
• Understand test plans, test scripts, test cases, and links that connect to requirements and done criteria.
• Manage Test Case Repository and maintain test cases up to date.
• Participate in collaborative working sessions to develop test plans and test criteria.
• Design an automation framework using Selenium Web Driver, Java, and Jenkins infrastructure.
• Maintain the automation framework and regression test suites.
• Plan and control test environments.
• Analyze automated test assets and provide insights into alternatives or improvements to test systems, test framework components, test databases, and test servers.
• Provide solutions and recommendations for the execution of automated tests and troubleshoot test failures.
• Create a user‑friendly reporting framework for the automated test results across QA, UAT, Business, and IT Management.
• Identify and track system defects, perform root cause analysis, and work with the development team to resolve them.
• Partner with other QA team members and architects to develop and establish quality assurance standards and best practices.
• Co‑ordinate system verification and validation test activities using various tools.
• Perform quality assurance testing activities to ensure applications, products, and releases follow organizational QA standards.

• Integrating automated testing processes, solving complex quality assurance data‑processing problems, and designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Web Service test automation using the SoapUI tool.
• Cloud & Containerization – Dockerize test frameworks, run tests in containers, use Selenium Grid or other UI tools.
• Performance & Load Testing – JMeter, Gatling, K6; create performance scripts, understand throughput, latency, error rates, and analyze results.
• API Testing & Automation – Postman, Rest Assured, REST & GraphQL, Authorization (OAuth2, JWT), Contract testing (Swagger, Pact), API automation pipeline integration.
• CI/CD Integration – Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI; create pipeline workflows, test reporting, and artifacts management.
• Fundamental concepts of agile software development, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Experience with testing batch, flat file, and web service‑based interfaces.
• Experience with automated regression test strategies and tools.

  • Experience creating automated tests and regression test suites with tools such as Selenium Web Driver, Selenium Grid, Web Load, Jenkins, JUnit – 3 years.
  • Knowledge/experience to implement and maintain framework components to support test execution – 3 years.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environment – 2 years.
  • Experience in Java programming/scripting – 2 years.
