Valley R-VI School District is currently seeking qualified candidates for a junior high assistant baseball coaching position. This position will preferably be tied to an existing or open teaching position.

Reports To:

The JH Assistant Baseball Coach reports directly to the Middle School Head Baseball Coach, while working under the authority of the JH/High Athletic Director, JH/HS Principal and District Superintendent.

Education:

o A Bachelor Degree is preferred ? Certification/License: o Appropriate DESE certification ?

Work Experience:

o Previous coaching experience preferred o Baseball experience is preferable. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: ? Able to promote the district mission and a positive image of Valley R-VI Schools to students, staff, parents, and the public ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents. ? Ability to collaborate and work as a team with other staff within the building and district ?

Background in baseball and/or sports related areas ? Takes initiative, detail-oriented and is highly organized ? Promote positive relationships among team members Essential Duties: ? Responsible for maintaining and utilizing student instruction to assist in the upkeep, supervision, and efficient operation of the baseball program ? Responsible for the supervision and safety of students ? Develops and ensures the district baseball budget is fiscally sound ?

Develops reasonable rules of team behavior and procedures, and maintains order of the team in a fair and just manner. ? Serve as the district liaison in public relations and communication relating to the junior/high school baseball program ? Promotes baseball educational opportunities with students, parents, and community ? Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibility as assigned by supervisors Applications: ?
