Assembly Technician II
Report to:
Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager (non-exempt, Tier 2 - Experienced)
The Assembly Technician II is an experienced manufacturing professional responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical products in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision while interpreting complex schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Electrical & Mechanical Assembly – Interprets schematics, assembles panels, installs wiring, control components, and mechanical parts, performs torquing, fastening, alignment, and adjustments to meet design specifications.
- Testing & Troubleshooting – Conducts functional testing, continuity and insulation resistance tests, diagnoses and resolves assembly issues, and verifies proper operation before final inspection.
- Quality Assurance & Inspection – Performs in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet engineering, customer, and regulatory specifications, documents results, and supports corrective actions.
- Process Improvement & Team Support – Works independently, mentors entry-level technicians, provides feedback on assembly processes and tooling improvements, and collaborates with engineering and quality teams.
- Safety & Compliance – Follows company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations, maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
