Heavy Equipment Operator

Saiia Construction Company LLC, a Mas Tec company, is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators with excavator (mass production experience) and dozer experience to work night shift in a quarry environment in Calera, AL. Local candidates from Calera/Birmingham, AL are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Operate excavator to dig holes and trenches and transport earth, gravel, and other materials to designated areas.
  • Operate bulldozer or grader to level, distribute, and move soil, sand, ore, rock, and other items; may attach auxiliary tools as needed.
  • Operate dump truck, scraper, tractor‑driven scraper, or water truck to transport or dump materials such as sand, soil, rock, gravel, or water.
  • Use GPS grade technology when required.
  • Participate in required training and ensure all safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and state/federal regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficiency with email, smartphone, tablet, or computer for information management.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance standards according to employee handbook.
  • Approach work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
