Heavy Equipment Operator - Haul Truck; Night Shift

What You’ll Do:

• Promote Safety. In accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times.
• Operate Heavy Equipment. Operate off‑highway equipment to transport raw materials and/or finished products throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy.
• Maintain Equipment. Keep equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels and adding correct fluids as necessary; assist in performing other minor maintenance.
• Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings. Observe plant operations and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments to ensure safety.
• Additional Responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience. 2 years of operating loaders and dozers in a plant environment preferred.
• Functional and Safety Knowledge. Must have solid knowledge of equipment capabilities and specifications of different finished materials, recognize various products, and understand proper plant operations; must be familiar with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations and possess hazard recognition skills.
• Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands, work outside in all types of weather conditions, and tolerate loud noise exposure.
• Ready to Drive. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Interpersonal Skills. Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment; respond to inquiries promptly and follow through to address issues.
