SCHOOL SECRETARY - CASUAL Green Dome Islamic School

We are currently looking for professional, skilled, and dependable Casual School Secretaries to support the day-to-day administrative and secretarial operations at Green Dome Islamic School in Northeast Calgary. Casual secretary opportunities will continue to be available throughout the 2026–2027 school year, based on the operational needs of the school. Successful candidates may be contacted as opportunities arise to provide administrative support to the principal, staff, students, and visitors to the office by managing office tasks, providing courteous assistance via telephone, email, and mail, and coordinating internal and external communications.

The Casual School Secretary role is similar in nature to a substitute teaching position in that casual secretaries are called upon to provide temporary coverage when regular school office staff are absent or otherwise unavailable. Assignments may vary in duration and frequency depending on staffing requirements and school operational needs. Casual secretaries are expected to perform the duties associated with the position in a professional, organized, and confidential manner while supporting the continuity and effective operation of the school office.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact with students and staff in a professional and meaningful manner. Expectations include an organized, professional, and confidential approach in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence. Previous experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment would be considered an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with an Elementary Education background.

Green Dome Islamic School is located in Northeast Calgary along Métis Trail and provides an Islamic learning environment that offers an accredited program of studies compliant with the Alberta Education curriculum.
