Business Analyst
We are looking for a Business Analyst for a long-term position, starting with a 6-month contract, in Calgary, Alberta. This position is 100% on site. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Business Analyst with experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally within E P companies, to support new and ongoing initiatives related to well lifecycle applications and workforce management. The successful candidate will bring strong business analysis expertise, combined with a solid technical background
, to ensure solutions are effectively delivered and transitioned from planning through to operations.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist in defining scope, priorities and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories and process flows.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including business requirements documents, use cases and business processes.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams.
- Participate in testing activities, including test planning, test case development and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Support change management, user adoption initiatives and training.
- Support operational readiness by ensuring business processes, roles and support models are defined prior to go-live.
- Provide ongoing support during implementation and post-go-live stabilization.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in oil and gas industry, preferably within E P organizations.
- Proven experience across well lifecycle processes (drilling, completions, and operations) and associated systems.
- Experience with workforce management systems is considered an asset.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong experience eliciting requirements, documenting business processes and functional requirements.
- Familiarity with enterprise application environments and system integrations.
- Experience working with COTS applications, data flows and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage testing activities, including UAT planning and execution.
- Self-starter that takes initiative when it comes to completing all necessary tasks.
- Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
