. This impactful role is responsible for strengthening organizational effectiveness through robust monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, impact measurement, and gender equality integration to support evidence-based decision-making and program excellence.
The Advisor, MEAL, Impact and Gender Equality will work closely with program teams, leadership, and global partners to enhance data quality, measure program outcomes, strengthen accountability, embed gender-responsive approaches, and foster a culture of continuous learning across international programs.
What Does the Opportunity Look Like?The Advisor, MEAL, Impact and Gender Equality plays a critical role in strengthening the effectiveness, accountability, and long-term impact of Operation Eyesight’s international programs through leadership in monitoring, evaluation, learning, impact measurement, and gender equality integration.
Reporting to senior program leadership, this role provides technical expertise to support program design, performance measurement, reporting, organizational learning, impact assessment, and evidence-based decision-making across multiple country programs.
This position works closely with internal teams and international partners to ensure MEAL frameworks, impact strategies, and gender equality approaches are aligned with organizational priorities, donor expectations, and international development best practices.
Key Responsibilities 1. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)- Develop and strengthen MEAL frameworks, methodologies, and tools to support program effectiveness and impact measurement.
- Ensure performance indicators, outcomes, and reporting mechanisms are aligned with organizational priorities and donor requirements.
- Support the design of evaluations, assessments, and learning initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
- Promote evidence-based decision-making across international programs.
- Strengthen data collection systems, reporting tools, and quality assurance processes.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, insights, risks, and opportunities.
- Support accurate and timely internal and donor reporting.
- Translate complex program data into actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support impact measurement frameworks that demonstrate program outcomes and long-term effectiveness.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure gender equality considerations are embedded into program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Support the development of gender-responsive indicators, reporting frameworks, and learning approaches.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen equitable and inclusive programming practices.
- Promote awareness and internal capacity around gender equality principles and best practices.
- Support accountability mechanisms that strengthen transparency and responsiveness to stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of learning, reflection, and adaptive program management.
- Support teams and partners with MEAL tools, frameworks, and best practices.
- Deliver training, coaching, and technical guidance to strengthen internal capacity.
- Partner with program, finance, and leadership teams to ensure integrated reporting and performance management.
- Support improvements to systems, processes, and data governance practices.
- Collaborate across departments to align program performance measurement with strategic priorities.
- Contribute to organizational planning, evaluation, and impact communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, public health, social sciences, evaluation, gender studies, statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in MEAL, impact measurement, evaluation, or international development programming.
- Demonstrated experience integrating gender equality or gender-responsive approaches into programs or evaluation frameworks.
- Strong experience designing indicators, reporting systems, evaluations, and learning frameworks.
- Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to support strategic decision-making.
- Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and accountability frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and international contexts.
