Oversee all day-to-day estimating activities, including cost modelling, bid preparation, and budget development. Supervise and mentor Coordinator(s)/Estimator(s), ensuring accuracy and timely submission of quotes.
Lead tender processes and negotiate pricing with trade partners and suppliers.
Create and administer purchase orders and change orders, approving invoices weekly.
2. Design & Client CoordinationLiaise with Interior Designers and clients to scope selections, price options, and refine.
Guide clients through the design and change‑order process, presenting specifications and budgets clearly.
Attend site and design‑presentation meetings to translate client needs into actionable scopes of work.
3. Contract & Budget ManagementDraft, review, and execute all renovation agreements, specifications, and client change orders.
Monitor project budgets and cost‑to‑complete reporting; identify and address variances in real time.
Partner with Project Managers to deliver projects on time and on budget, providing monthly insights.
4. Team Development & TrainingRecruit, train, and develop your direct reports (Coordinator, Estimator, Designer), leading regular performance reviews.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by documenting best practices and refining processes.
Serve as a mentor and subject‑matter expert, equipping the team with the skills needed for excellence.
5. Process Improvement & ReportingMaintain up‑to‑date knowledge of construction trends, product availability, and industry standards.
Administer CRM and Project Management software (e.g., Buildertrend) to track leads, change orders, and project milestones.
Chair weekly operations meetings; produce and distribute key performance reports (e.g., margin analysis, change‑order turnaround times).
6. Cross‑Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Sales, Construction, Design, and Customer Care teams to align on schedules, scopes, and deliverables.
Share client feedback and market insights to drive enhancements in service, pricing, and design offerings.
Support marketing initiatives—open houses, project showcases, and community events.
Qualifications:Post‑secondary diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (asset).
5+ years in an estimating role—ideally within residential renovations.
Proven track record reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and change‑order documentation.

Champions client needs, ensuring a seamless renovation experience.
Communication:
Articulates complex estimates, scopes, and budgets clearly written and verbal.

Proactively identifies risks, proposes alternatives, and solves problems under pressure.
Technology Savvy:
Proficient with estimating software, Buildertrend (or equivalent), Microsoft Office, and CRM tools.
Strong negotiating experience with trades and suppliers; building vendor relationships.
Hands‑on experience administering project management.
