CBC Calgary is seeking an engaging Host for the Alberta at Noon program, combining current affairs with a community-focused approach. This position champions dynamic storytelling and audience engagement.
In this long-term contract role, you will host interviews and lead discussions on pressing topics while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for listeners. Your knack for storytelling and curiosity will drive the program's impact and deep ties within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce original stories to deepen community ties
• Host the live show from 12:00-1:00 pm weekdays
• Engage with guests and audience members spontaneously
• Collaborate on the program's visual strategy with the CBC
• Lead community outreach initiatives for Alberta at Noon
Requirements:
• Five years of experience in journalism or related field
• Strong writing and interviewing skills
• Proven on-air personality with curiosity in current affairs
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Commitment to diverse community representation
