The Purchasing Assistant will provide key support for high volume purchasing tasks, working under the guidance of Buyers and Senior Buyers to source goods and evaluate procurement solutions. Essential duties include reviewing purchase requisitions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining order processing. Ideal candidates have strong communication and customer service skills to effectively liaise with service units and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in high-volume purchasing and RFx processes
• Research and maintain product specifications and pricing
• Ensure adherence to ethical purchasing practices
• Manage and expedite purchase orders to meet timelines
• Liaise between service units and external vendors
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of demonstrated buying experience
• Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Proficiency in microcomputer software and Oracle
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure
