LeadENMAX's enterprise-wide business continuity, crisis management, and organizational resilience programs
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for the development, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of ENMAX’s Corporate Business Continuity Management (BCM) program. Working collaboratively across ENMAX Power, ENMAX Energy, Versant Power, and corporate functions, you will help ensure a coordinated and effective response to incidents that have enterprise-wide impacts. This role combines strategic planning, emergency preparedness, crisis response, and people leadership to strengthen organizational resilience, safeguard critical operations, and support the reliable delivery of services to our customers and communities.
MajorResponsibilities
- Coordinate with ENMAX Power, ENMAX Energy, corporate functions, and Versant Power to align existing operational incident management processes with corporate processes.
- Ensure alignment with government agencies responsible for crisis response and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and alignment with best practices.
- Develop and maintain appropriate reporting systems, standards and procedures.
- Develop and monitoring of program metrics.
- Development and delivery ofICSandBCM training.
- Execution of enterprise-wide desktop and simulation training exercises.
- Participation in and support for business unit desktop and simulation training exercises.
- Maintain mutual aid and service agreements to ensure/enhance continuity of operations with various stakeholders, internal and external.
- Lead, motivate, develop, coach and mentor team members.
- Review and evaluate post-incident BCM activations to determine opportunities for process improvement, implement any identified correction actions and update processes accordingly.
- Identify, research, and analyze emerging issues in both internal and external business environments that impact the BCM program.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Emergency Management, Business, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Professional designation or certification in business continuity, emergency management, or safety is considered an asset (e.g., AEM, ABCP, CBCP, CEM, CRSP, CSP).
Qualifications & Experience- 7-10 years of related experience in business continuity, emergency management, resilience, crisis management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience leading cross-functional teams, projects, programs, or enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Experience in the utility, energy, municipal government, emergency services, industrial operations, or transportation sectors is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of business continuity, organizational resilience, emergency management, crisis management, and recovery practices.
- Knowledge of business continuity and emergency management frameworks, standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience applying Incident Command System (ICS) principles and participating in incident response activities.
- Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating emergency management and business continuity exercises.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Copilot, ERP systems, and related business technologies; familiarity with Outage Management Systems (OMS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an asset.
- Incident Command System (ICS) training and business continuity certifications or training, such as IC S100/200/300, ISO
22301, or Emergency Exercise Design, are considered assets.
