What is Paint Scout?
Paint Scout is an industry-leading estimation and sales management software for painting contractors. Our small but mighty team is based in Calgary, AB, and serves painting contractors throughout North America. As a Product Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the design and functionality of the software.
About the RoleAre you passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences? We’re looking for a Product Designer to oversee the design process from concept to launch. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our product is not only visually stunning but also meets user needs and business goals. You’ll shape the product’s direction, streamline the design process, and use data to create intuitive, user-friendly designs.
This is a key position where your contributions will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and the overall success of the product.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Marketing to define, and deliver impactful features
- Design end-to-end product experiences, from early concepts to polished, production-ready designs
- Translate user needs, product requirements, and business goals into thoughtful design solutions
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and scalability
- Advocate for user-centered design decisions across the organization
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices, and bring new ideas and approaches to the team
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or in a similar role
- Experience designing complex digital products across web and/or mobile platforms
- High proficiency with Figma
- Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and usability best practices
- Ability to clearly communicate design decisions and rationale
- Comfortable working in cross-functional, fast-paced environments
- Data-driven approach to problem-solving and design iteration
- Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- User-focused mindset with strong empathy, incorporating feedback to create intuitive, user-friendly designs
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Experience in the painting industry or other home services SaaS is a strong plus
