We create content that moves culture, drives engagement, and highlights what’s happening in the city — from food and events to local businesses and community stories.
We’re hiring a Senior Content Manager — someone who already knows what works, understands algorithms, and can lead content execution from idea to publish without hand-holding.
Role Overview
This is a senior, hands‑on content role. You are expected to arrive with existing skills, instincts, and experience in content creation, editing, and platform performance.
You’ll be responsible for managing content strategy and execution across social platforms, assisting shoots on location and in studio, and ensuring content is timely, relevant, and aligned with brand voice. You’ll work closely with the .IMG and Whats Good Calgary teams to plan, produce, and deliver high-quality content consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualize, plan, and execute social media content
Film on location across Calgary and in our studio
Capture high‑quality photos and b‑roll
Edit content for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts, and full‑length features
Manage posting schedules and ensure content delivery timelines are met
Participate in brainstorming for new series, campaigns, and creative concepts
Attend local events, restaurant openings, concerts, markets, and community activities for coverage
Work closely with the Whats Good Calgary and .IMG teams to maintain brand voice and content style
Be comfortable and confident appearing on camera when needed
Handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Required Experience & Skills
Experience in content management, media, or agency environments
Minimum 2 years of professional experience
Strong understanding of algorithms (Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube, organic reach, engagement signals)
Deep understanding of current content trends, hooks, pacing, and viral formats
High interest in local news, events, and culture
Strong writing and editing skills
Advanced video editing skills using Cap Cut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut
Experience managing workflows in CRMs (Click Up, Go High Level, or similar)
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
Account management or agency experience is highly preferred
IMPORTANT – Portfolio Requirement
Experience creating high‑quality social media content is mandatory.
A portfolio is required and must include examples of video and social content you’ve personally created and edited. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
