Craft compelling signed news reports with Deaf Dots as a News Writer focusing on stories that impact Deaf Canadians. Engage in research, interviews, and multimedia content development every month.
Deaf Dots, launched in September 2020, provides signed video reports in American Sign Language. As a News Writer, you will stay informed about news relevant to the Deaf community in Canada.
Your role involves compiling, researching, and writing stories that fit the established Deaf Dots format, contributing to a unique and important service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Track news activities affecting Deaf Canadians
• Identify and compile potential stories monthly
• Research and interview sources for news reports
• Write stories in script format with visuals
• Manage media uploads and cloud storage
Requirements:
• Ability to write engaging news stories in ASL format
• Familiarity with Deaf culture and community needs
• Strong research and editing skills
• Experience with multimedia editing and cloud services
• Communication skills and collaboration with team members
