Responsibilities
Execute formal and informal restructurings and administer formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc.Advise lenders, creditors or shareholders through financial reviews, business turnarounds, restructurings, bankruptcies, liquidations, etc.Develop relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, etc.Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet stakeholders’ needsMentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviewsContribute to strategic and operational planning related to stakeholder and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesMaintain flexibility to travel, as necessarySkills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldCompletion of a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) certification and working to become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT)Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset5+ years of insolvency experience, specifically corporate insolvency experienceExtensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency ActStrong business and practice development skillsProven people management, relationship building and leadership skillsStrong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills
