Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Credit Strategy, the Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for supporting the assessment of credit risk within the credit portfolio and assisting in the development, maintenance, and application of Haventree Bank’s credit risk policies, including the Residential Mortgage Underwriting Policy (RMUP). This role contributes to analytical work supporting credit risk models, portfolio monitoring, and quality assurance activities, ensuring that credit decisions and practices align with established policies and risk appetite.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and application of Haventree’s credit risk policies, including the Residential Mortgage Underwriting Policy (RMUP), ensuring they remain current and effective.
  • Develop dashboards and perform analytical work related to portfolio concentration, loan losses, and other credit-related metrics to assess risks within the credit portfolio.
  • Contribute analysis and insights to the Credit Working Group and to credit-related components of Enterprise Risk Management activities.
  • Review, interpret, and support the use of HTB’s credit risk models; provide analytical insights into risk profiles within the credit portfolio(s).
  • Assess underwriting adherence to credit and AML principles.
  • Monitor daily credit monitoring reports and escalating potential upcoming limit breaches to the Director or CRO as required.
  • Support the preparation and drafting of materials for the credit risk management report presented to the Credit Committee.
  • Participate in credit-related initiatives and projects by providing analytical support and reviewing credit risk requirements.
  • Communicate findings, analysis, and recommendations effectively through written reports, presentations, and training support as required.
  • Participate in various credit-related projects or assignments as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
  • The position requires a relevant university degree.
  • A certification or accreditation in credit risk management would be an asset.
Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job
  • The position requires 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in roles such as credit quality assurance, or credit risk management.
  • The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and exceptional organization and time management skills.
