Join Capital Power as a Quantitative Energy Trader in Calgary, Alberta, focusing on congestion strategy management and trading optimization. This permanent, full-time role is crucial for our trading desk.
In this position, you will engage with the Congestion Team to deploy quantitative strategies that enhance our asset optimization and speculative trading efforts. Reporting directly to the Head Trader, you will collaborate with various teams while managing risk exposure and providing insights essential for trading success. Your quantitative expertise will drive our energy trading initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop quantitative-driven congestion strategies
• Collaborate with teams to identify trading opportunities
• Monitor and report trading P&L to leadership
• Analyze market conditions and provide insights
• Ensure compliance with risk policies and regulations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 5+ years of energy trading experience
• Strong background in data analysis tools
• Knowledgeable in ETRM systems
• Proven success in value creation
