Overview
At PwC, our International Tax Services team provides advice and guidance to clients on structuring global tax positions, analysing international tax laws, and developing strategies that optimise tax efficiency and minimise risk for multinational businesses.
This role is for an International Tax Services Manager based in Canada, focused on cross‑border restructuring, new Canadian tax legislation (Pillar Two, EIFEL, anti‑hybrid mismatch rules), and complex international tax issues.
Responsibilities- Assist with complex cross‑border restructuring transactions for multinational groups headquartered in Canada and Canadian groups of foreign multinational groups.
- Support clients navigating new Canadian tax legislation and associated computations, including Pillar Two, EIFEL rules, and anti‑hybrid mismatch rules.
- Lead the review of surplus computations, foreign accrual property income and excluded property computations, and T1134 reporting for taxpayers with foreign affiliate groups.
- Engage with affiliated PwC firms in foreign jurisdictions to help clients navigate foreign tax laws.
- Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems, moving between big‑picture thinking and detail management.
- Anticipate stakeholder needs and develop solutions proactively.
- Initiate and lead open conversations with teams, clients and stakeholders to build trust.
- Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
- Ensure continuity and uphold standards of excellence following the departure of a valued team member.
- Prior experience in Canadian international tax or Canadian corporate tax at the Manager level.
- Completion of the CICA In‑depth Tax program or a MTax designation; CPA, LLB or equivalent designation.
- Strong technical background and broad‑based tax skills.
- Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, sound business sense and a creative mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to identify tax consulting opportunities and connect them with existing and prospective clients.
Competitive base salary ranging from $84,700 to $134,700, dependent on skills, experience, qualifications and location. Variable incentive pay programs and a comprehensive total rewards package may also be available.
