Responsibilities

Review commitment letters relative to executed Term Sheets/LOIs for the Commercial Mortgage Origination team, Lender, and the Lenders solicitor.

Work with the Commercial Mortgage Origination team to manage and coordinate the funding process including but not limited to; reviewing the fully executed commitment letter, preparation of the funding checklist, ongoing communication with the Borrower and any third parties required as well as proactively addressing potential issues in underwriting and conditions precedents.

Engages critical thought to ensure proactive thinking to successfully fund the deal.

Have a strong understanding of lending/funding criteria for each lender or internal investor, as applicable, and be able to suggest appropriate lenders/investors when needed.

Liaise between Borrowers and Lenders/Internal investor or internal funding team to process the closing of the deal.

Establish relationships and be willing to call or meet with third-party report providers (appraisers, engineers, cost consultants, solicitors), as it relates to funding loans.

Assist in training and mentoring Analysts on the fundamentals of funding.

Acts with a sense of urgency in advancing the deals.

Establish and reinforce funding standards and procedures.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of direct Commercial Real Estate experience is required, within a Lender, Broker, or Law Office would be preferred.

Experience in funding a variety of commercial loans including but not limited to; pre-development, land development, convention and CMHC insured construction, and conventional and CMHC insured term financing, and financing across the spectrum of commercial real estate assets would be considered a strong asset.

Excellent organizational, subject matter expertise as it relates to third party documents (appraisals, land title, PSA’s, ESA’s, Geotech, JV Agreements, LP/GP agreements, QS reports, construction contracts, etc).

High attention to detail with high level accuracy.

A clear understanding of cash flow statements, financial statements with the ability to review and assess with respect to meeting conditional requirements, of the same.

A sales-focused individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role requires the individual
