Position: Congestion Energy Trader at Capital Power

In this critical position with the Congestion Team, you will report to the Head Trader and play an essential role in managing trading risks whilst driving asset optimization. We seek candidates with a proven track record in energy trading and a strong quantitative background. Your insight will directly influence trading strategies and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop long-term strategies for congestion management

• Support team on managing generation portfolio exposures

• Collaborate with traders to discover market opportunities

• Track exposure and report financial performance

• Adhere to risk policies and regulatory compliance

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, finance, or engineering

• 5+ years in energy trading fields

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills

• Proficient in analysis tools, including SQL and Python

• Knowledgeable of renewable energy strategies
