Mortgage Underwriter - BMBE

Become a key player in mortgage decisions with First National as a Mortgage Underwriter for Third Party Residential Underwriting. Utilizes your expertise to build relationships and ensure service excellence.

In this full-time position, you will report to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting.

Your role will involve underwriting mortgage applications while adhering to guidelines and maintaining positive relationships with brokers and external partners. Strong analytical and decision-making skills will be essential to advising on applications efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish relationships with mortgage brokers to enhance loyalty

• Adjudicate mortgage applications within authority limits

• Interact with mortgage insurers for lending decisions

• Prepare and issue mortgage commitments as per service levels

• Stay updated on industry trends and competition

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience

• Strong communication and analytical skills

• Competent in Microsoft Office suite

• Ability to manage high-pressure environments

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
