Oil Risk Analyst

Position: Oil Risk Analyst at Trafigura
Enhance trading analysis as an Oil Risk Analyst at Trafigura's Calgary office. Manage PnL data, trading strategies, and market risk to optimize profitability and accuracy.

As a key member of the Deals Desk Team, you will independently analyze oil trading strategies while maintaining data integrity. This role demands a solid understanding of both physical and derivative markets, necessitating daily involvement in monitoring trading positions and producing reports. Your insights will guide traders in making informed commercial decisions on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy of trading strategy economics

• Produce daily PnL commentary for trade analysis

• Monitor and report on market price risk

• Collaborate with departments on transaction accuracy

• Conduct user testing for risk management systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance

• At least 1 year in market risk management

• Experience with physical & derivatives in Energy

• Proficiency in Python or SQL preferred

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
