Position: Energy Trader with Capital Power
Join Capital Power in Calgary as an Energy Trader, focusing on innovative quantitative strategies for congestion management. Collaborate with a skilled team to enhance trading operations and optimize market strategies.

In this pivotal role, you will establish and implement long-term congestion strategies while providing insights on trading operations. Your expertise in energy markets, strong quantitative skills, and five years of experience will directly support asset optimization and market performance. As part of the Congestion Team, you will actively engage with traders to refine strategies and manage risk effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy long-term congestion strategies

• Advise on congestion exposures and risk management

• Coordinate with teams for comprehensive strategy development

• Collaborate with traders to optimize market positions

• Track P&L and report insights to leadership

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative fields

• 5+ years’ experience in energy trading analytics

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Familiarity with data analysis tools like Python

• Experience with ISO scheduling and cloud tools
