Overview
We are looking for an Investment & Retirement Specialist to join the Freedom Experience team. This role focuses on maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty by responding to inquiries, providing sound investment advice, and supporting clients in sustaining their financial engagement with Canada Life through exceptional service.
Location flexibility:
Calgary, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg. This is a permanent full-time role.
- Support customers as they enroll in their group retirement savings plans, helping them understand plan design, set contribution levels, and transfer funds into their accounts.
- Provide personalized investment portfolio and retirement advice tailored to each customer's circumstances to build confidence in their retirement plan.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through phone, email, in-person and virtual appointments, managing warm leads to address inquiries about investments or retirement plans.
- Provide education and guidance on financial planning and related topics.
- Engage with clients who are considering withdrawing assets, asking questions to understand their concerns and delivering personalized financial solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address client issues and improve overall satisfaction.
- Conduct client win-back initiatives and campaigns to improve engagement and retention.
- Help the team grow and retain plan member assets within the group retirement plan.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client experience and loyalty by offering value-added services and personalized planning.
- Valid life insurance license (LLQP) or willingness to obtain within three months of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA) would be advantageous.
- Five years of industry experience in financial services or related field, with a focus on sales or loyalty retention.
- Strong knowledge of pension, savings and investment products or services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven effectiveness engaging with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence clients, presenting analyses and solutions to retain assets.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, identify patterns, and make recommendations in the client’s best interests.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Salesforce is beneficial.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset and is required for Quebec due to regular service needs; otherwise an asset.
- Criminal record and credit background check is mandatory as a condition of employment.
- Reliability Status Security Clearance is required for access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as applicable; cost covered by Canada Life.
Salary range: $59,800 – $99,700 annually. This represents base salary; other compensation components (e.g., annual bonus, commissions) may apply. If selected, the recruiter will share details of total rewards.
