Senior Merchandise Financial Analyst

Support financial planning for Sport Chek at Canadian Tire Corporation as a Senior Analyst. Engage in analysis, reporting, and trend identification to enhance decision-making.

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Financial Planning, this role involves creating and managing the Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP). You will reconcile financial data, monitor performance metrics, and provide insights through robust data analysis. Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will enable you to identify trends that inform financial forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support creation of the Annual Merchandise Financial Plan

• Reconcile top-down vs bottom-up MFPs effectively

• Monitor and report on monthly sales and margin performance

• Conduct detailed financial analysis on key metrics

• Analyze category prioritization and resource allocation

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years in financial analysis in retail

• Post-secondary education in business or finance

• Proficient with Excel at intermediate or advanced level

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships
