Director of Finance

Our client is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations of a diversified private investment portfolio. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple entities across commercial real estate, asset management, agriculture, and other operating businesses while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic growth, operational excellence, and long-term business objectives.

Our client is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations of a diversified private investment portfolio. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple entities across commercial real estate, asset management, agriculture, and other operating businesses while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic growth, operational excellence, and long-term business objectives.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
  • Lead the accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and financial operations across a diversified portfolio of businesses
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including consolidated financial statements, intercompany reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial planning activities to support business performance and informed decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, audit requirements, and established internal control processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, lenders, investors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders
  • Support acquisitions, divestitures, financing activities, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while driving operational efficiencies and continuous process improvements
  • Partner with executive leadership and portfolio management teams to provide financial insight and strategic guidance that supports long-term business objectives
Your strengths include:
  • CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a multi-entity environment
  • Experience in private equity, commercial real estate, investment management, or a similar industry is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and internal controls
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, due diligence, and business integrations
  • Advanced Excel skills, with Yardi experience considered an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
